What's Correlation? Why do people use it?

Correlation analysis is frequently used in scientific reports, but what is correlation? Why is it misused so often? In this article, I will define correlation, its uses and limitations. I’ll look at a couple of misconceptions about Pearson correlation analysis and alternative correlation measures.

I speculate the causality of this claim by analyzing Orange County and San Diego County as possible treatment and control. To do this, I’ll explore the COVID cases data from March 18th to July 18th and propose an identification strategy, endogeneity concerns, and possible ways to deal with them.

This is the first in a series of articles dealing with the current Opioid Epidemic. I explore the relationship between Fentanyl and drug-related deaths using kernel density estimation and nonparametric regression, before fitting the regression to a distribution.
